Format of Monday League: Indoor Dual-Coed 6s Dual-Coed is where half of the games are played on a Men's height net with coed rules and the other half are played on a Women's height net with reverse-coed rules (women play as usual; men hit from 10 and may NEVER block). There is neither a male-contact rule nor a female-contact-rule. Teams may use Back-Row Block Assist.
Free Agents (Individuals Without a Team): Individuals without a team may sign up for the Free Agent Wait-List. Please indicate which league you’d like to join. Please also provide your height, your preferred position(s) and some information about your volleyball background, experience and skill level. We will try to find an appropriate team to place you on.
League Details: The Spring 2017 Season will start on Monday 4/3/2017 or 4/10/2017. The league will run for approximately 8 to 12 weeks (depending on the number of registered teams, gym availability and other factors). For a full league, each team will be scheduled to play 32 regular season games (16 coed games and 16 reverse-coed games). Each game is rally-scoring to 25 points; win by 2; cap at 27. After all regular season games have been completed, all teams will advance to League Playoffs (where we use an elimination bracket).**
*NOTE: The League Fee is calculated based on a total of 32 regular season games (plus Playoffs). The League Fee will adjusted if there are more than or fewer than 32 regular season games.
** Playoffs may span multiple weeks if we are unable to complete all playoff matches on a single Monday evening.
On most nights of regular season, teams will play 3 or 4 games (appx 1.5 to 2 hours). There may be some nights when a team plays 5 or 6 games or only 2 games. There may also be some nights when certain teams have a "BYE." However, by the end of the season, each team will have been scheduled to play all the regular season games promised to each team.
Games will either be self-officiated or peer-officiated during Regular Season. For playoffs, games will be peer-officiated. Teams that are not playing a particular round (of Playoffs) will be assigned to officiate. Furthermore, if your team is eliminated from the playoff bracket, you will need to stay one extra round to help officiate.
Team Registration Fee for Season with 32 regular season games plus Playoffs : $750-per-team NOTE: A $50 discount will be given to teams that register and pay the deposit by 3/24/2017. Also, the team registration fee will be adjusted accordingly if the season has more than or less than 32 regular season games.
* VBmatch reserves the right to charge a higher price for individual players who in the past repeatedly created issues that required additional time (on the part of VBmatch staff) to resolve. For example, some individuals repeatedly cancel and request a "sub" on league days (instead of cancelling in advance) which increases the amount of work for VBmatch staff.
If we decide to charge a higher price for an individual player based on that individual's past record, we will notify that individual prior to the start of the season and that individual may decide if he wishes to join at the higher price or not. VBmatch also reserves the right to reject the registration of
any player who in the past presented a check that did not clear or failed to make full payment of fees.
INDIVIDUAL (Free Agent Player) Registration Fee for Season with 32 regular season games plus Playoffs : $130-per-Individual
NOTE: Teams may have up to 10 players (6 core players and 4 subs) on their team roster without additional fees. If your team exceeds the 4 subs limit, there will be a $5 fee for each additional player. Subs must be added to a team's roster. Subs are players outside of the league who you bring in to play on your team for one or more league nights. When you "borrow" a player from another existing team in the league, that player does NOT count as a sub and is NOT added to your team roster since that player already belongs on another team in the league.
To register for the league, submit your Team Roster via this Online Form and then reserve a spot by paying a deposit via the online payment button below -OR- by mailing a check. The FULL entry fee is due on-site on the first day of league. The deposit will be refunded after the full entry fee is paid.
NOTE: Space is limited, so we will send you an email after we receive your deposit to let you know if we can accept your entry. You are NOT officially registered until you receive a confirmation email from us.
LEAGUE CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that we reserve the right to cancel the league at our sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, teams currently registered at that time will receive a pro-rated refund of the fees paid. The league may be cancelled for various reasons including, but not limited to: inclement weather; unavailability of the facilities/site for the league; inadequate number of entries; schedule conflicts of the league organizer; etc. In the unlikely event of a league cancellation, notification will be sent via email.
IMPORTANT NOTE: IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN AN ASSUMPTION OF RISKS / WAIVER OF CLAIMS / RELEASE OF LIABILITY / INDEMNITY / BINDING ARBITRATION / WAIVER OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS AGREEMENT (BEFORE YOU START PLAYING).
