This is the information and registration page for the Wednesday Optional Power-REVERSE-Coed 6s League. The new season of Wednesday League will start on 4/20/2016.
To register for this league, submit your Team Roster via this Online Form and then reserve a spot by paying a Deposit via the online payment button below -OR- by mailing a check. The balance of the league fee can be paid by cash or check and is due on-site on the first day of league.
Wednesday Format: Optional Power-REVERSE-Coed 6s
Games are played on a women's net. Women hit and block at the net as usual; men hit from the 10 and may never block. Teams may have either 4 women & 2 men, 3 women & 3 men or 2 women & 4 men.
A SPECIAL Back-Row Block Assist Rule applies in this league: ONE (1) back-row female player MAY assist in blocking whenever there are less than 3 women in the front row. The back-row blocker may only block; she may not hit.
If a back-row female player attacks a ball, the back-row attack rule will still apply.
Regular Season Games are self-officiated. If two teams can't agree on a call, the point is re-played.
For Playoff Night, teams that are not playing a particular round will be assigned to officiate the playoff matches and teams that are eliminated from the playoff bracket are expected to stay one extra round to help officiate.
League Time: Wednesdays 7:00pm to ~10:30pm. For each team, game start-times vary week-by-week and will be communicated by email in advance.
For Playoff Night(s), all players on all teams must arrive by 7pm and be ready to play or officiate.
League Duration: The League will run for approximately 7-weeks (not necessarily 7-consecutive weeks).
League Fee for Individual Free Agent Players: $100-per-person for
a 7-week league.
League Fee for Teams: $600-per-team for a 7-week league. (Each team will be scheduled for a minimum of 18 regular season games. PLUS all teams advance to playoffs). An initial deposit of $100 is required to reserve a spot for your team. The balance of the league fee is due on-site at the gym on the first day of league (Wed 4/20/2016). The following discounts will be offered: $50 discount for teams that register early and pay the deposit by Monday 4/4; plus another $25 discount for teams that pay the balance of the league fee on-time in full by the first day of league (4/20/2016); plus yet another $25 discount for teams that pay the balance of the league fee on-time in full by the first day of league (4/20/2016) with a single payment from one person.
Thus, if you take advantage of all three discounts offered, the team fee will be $500.
On average, each team will be scheduled to play 3 games (appx. 1-1/2 hours) each week of regular season. Teams will get a 10-minute warm-up period (5 minutes of peppering and 5 minutes for hitting line prior to their first game of the evening; games are rally-scoring to 25 (win by 2; cap at 27). In other words, each team will be scheduled to play 18 regular season games over 6 weeks (on average 3 games-per-week); plus, all teams advance to playoffs. A full league will be 7-weeks long (not necessarily 7 consecutive weeks). The league fees will be pro-rated if the league is shorter than 7-weeks.
NOTE: Based on the initial team registration fee, teams may have up to 10-players on their roster: 6 core players and 4 subs. Additional subs are allowed and must be added to the team roster but teams must pay an extra $5 for each additional player on their roster beyond the first ten (10) players. (Our insurance premium is based on the total number of unique participants. Furthermore, this policy encourages teams to play with stable rosters. If a team plays with a different lineup of players each week, the record (game scores) and ranking for that team becomes less and less meaningful.)

Free Agents (Individuals Without a Team): Individuals without a team may sign up for the Free Agent wait-list. Please be sure to indicate the league you’d like to join since we have leagues from Monday to Thursday in East Bay and SF. Please also provide your height, your preferred position(s) and some information about your volleyball background, experience and skill level. We will try to find an appropriate team to place you on.
NOTE: Space is limited, so we will send you an email after we receive your deposit to let you know if we can accept your entry. You are NOT officially registered until you receive a confirmation email from us.
LEAGUE CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that we reserve the right to cancel the league at our sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, teams currently registered at that time will receive a pro-rated refund of the fees paid. The league may be cancelled for various reasons including, but not limited to: inclement weather; unavailability of the facilities/site for the activity; inadequate number of entries; schedule conflicts of the organizer; etc. In the event of a cancellation, notification will be sent via email.
IMPORTANT NOTE: IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN AN ASSUMPTION OF RISKS / WAIVER OF CLAIMS / RELEASE OF LIABILITY / INDEMNITY / BINDING ARBITRATION / WAIVER OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS AGREEMENT (BEFORE YOU START PLAYING). A Junior Player must be 14-17 years-old and must have a signed parental consent / waiver form.

NOTE: If you cancel after a spot has been reserved for you, you will only receive a full refund if you cancel at least 10-days ahead of the league's start date. If you cancel less than 10-days ahead of the league's start date, you will receive a refund less a $20 administration fee IF AND ONLY IF the league is full (i.e. sold out) AND we are able to find a team to replace your team.
