This is the information and registration page for the THURSDAY Random-Draw Unisex Reverse-Coed 4s League.

This Thursday League season will be 7-weeks long.
Thursday Format: Indoor Random-Draw Unisex Reverse-Coed 4s
Games are played on a women's net. Women play as usual - hitting and blocking at the net; men hit from 10-foot-line and may not block. Sign up individually or with one partner of either gender. For each regular season game (i.e. non-playoffs), you will play with random teammates. The random teams may consist of any combination of men and women (including all men or all women). The last week is playoffs. Playoff teams are formed by a selection process that starts with the highest ranked player.
For League Playoffs on the final Thursday of the sesaon, we
will use the following Playoff Format and will award 4 Restaurant Gift Cards to the Four (4) League Winners (i.e. the 4 players on the winning quad team).
We will start with a PLAYER SELECTION PROCESS to form "permanent" teams. You will stay with the same team for the entire playoff evening. Starting with the highest ranked individual, that player may select any other individual to become a permanent pair for the evening. This continues with the next highest ranked individual who has not been picked yet and so on until all individuals have been paired up. Then starting with the highest ranked pair, that pair may select any other pair to become a permanent quad team for the evening. This continues with the next highest ranked pair who has not been picked yet and so on until all pairs are part of a team.
For the PLAYER SELECTION PROCESS, if you are not present when it's your turn to pick, you will lose the opportunity to choose a partner. In the case of a pair, both players need to be present in order to pick another pair. If you forfeit you opportunity to pick, you will get moved to the end of the list and become unranked (and must simply wait until you get picked by someone else).
Once all teams have been formed, the teams will be seeded (based on their relative rank) into the playoff bracket. Depending on the number of team, we will use either a Double-Elimination Bracket (Match = Single games to 25) or a Single-Elimination Bracket (Match = Best-of-Three : 21, 21, 15). Each team adopts the rank of the highest ranking player on the team. We then play until there's only one quad team remaining. That one remaining quad team will be crowned the league champions.
To register for the Thursday League, scroll down to the Payment Button below, select Individual or Pair Entry, enter your contact information (and your partner's contact information, if applicable) and then reserve a spot by paying the deposit.
Level: The minimum skill level required for "Lower Division" is the equivalent of high school JV level. The minimum skill level required for "Upper Division" is the equivalent of high school Varsity Level. Players with prior doubles and reverse-coed experience are preferred. Because you will be playing 4s, good ball control is a must. You will be asked about your volleyball background and experience when you sign up and before your registration is accepted.
Furthermore, for returning players, priority registration is given to players
with a proven track record.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For the next season, we are only offering "Upper Division" for the Thursday League.
League Time: Thursdays 7:00pm to ~10:45pm. You will play three or four games each week (with different teammates). Games are rally-scoring to 25 (cap at 27).
League Duration: The League will last for seven Thursdays (12/3, 12/10, 12/17, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21 & 1/28) from 7:00pm to ~10:45pm. League Playoffs is on Thursday 1/28/2016.
DISCOUNTS : If the balance of the Pair Entry Fee is paid in full with a single payment by Thursday 12/3, then a discount of $14 will be applied - bringing the total down to $196-per-pair (from $210).
If the balance of the Individual Entry Fee is paid in full with a single payment by Thursday 12/3, then a discount of $10 will be applied - bringing the total down to $105-per-individual (from $115).
IMPORTANT NEW Policy re: Playoff Eligibility :Because "Last-Minute Cancellations" and tardy players disrupt the Random-Draw Schedule in this league and increases the amount of work for running a league, we are using the following policy (initially implemented in the March 2015 Season) :
Each player will receive an automatic bid to participate in league playoffs UNLESS that player (or a sub arranged by that player) (a) cancelled within a 12-hour period (prior to the league start-time) two or more times that season, (b) had a one or more no-shows without cancellation and/or (c) had two or more instances of checking in after 7:25pm for a 7:00pm Check-In. Such player will ONLY be eligible to participate in playoffs if the numbers work out. For example, if precisely 23 other players RSVP for playoffs and one more player is needed to make it 24, then that player will be eligible to participate in playoffs; if 24 other players RSVP for playoffs such that we already have a perfect multiple of four, then that player may not be given the opportunity to participate in playoffs. In that case, that player will receive a Pro-Rated Refund for one night's league fee if he is not given the opportunity to participate in playoffs.

NOTE: Space is limited, so we will send you an email after we receive your deposit to let you know if we can accept your entry. We will also ask about your volleyball experience and background. Good ball control is a MUST for this league. You are NOT officially registered until you receive a confirmation email from us.
LEAGUE CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that we reserve the right to cancel the league at our sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, teams currently registered at that time will receive a pro-rated refund of the fees paid. The league may be cancelled for various reasons including, but not limited to: inclement weather; unavailability of the facilities/site for the tournament; inadequate number of entries; schedule conflicts of the tournament organizer; etc. In the unlikely event of a tournament cancellation, notification will be sent via email.
IMPORTANT NOTE: IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN AN ASSUMPTION OF RISKS / WAIVER OF CLAIMS / RELEASE OF LIABILITY / INDEMNITY / BINDING ARBITRATION / WAIVER OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS AGREEMENT (BEFORE YOU START PLAYING). Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to see this Agreement prior to the first day of the league. A Junior Player must be 14-17 years-old and must have a signed parental consent / waiver form.

NOTE: If you cancel after a spot has been reserved for you, you will only receive a full refund if you cancel at least 7-days ahead of the league's start date. If you cancel less than 7-days ahead of the league, you will receive a refund less a $20 administration fee IF AND ONLY IF the league is full (i.e. sold out) AND we are able to find another player to replace you.
