Reverse-Coed games are played on a Women's Height Net with men hitting back-row from behind the 10-foot-line (men may not block). "Unisex" means that teams may have any combination of men and women including all women or all men rosters. There is neither a male-contact rule nor a female-contact rule for this league. What is "Hybrid 2s and 4s" ? During Regular Season (a.k.a. Round-Robin Pool-Play), we will have both 4-on-4 competition (Quads) and 2-on-2 competition (Doubles). For Playoffs, we start with 4-on-4 competition. Then toward the latter part of Playoffs, the games will change to 2-on-2 competition (and you will be required to play against your Quad teammates). NOTE: Each Regular Season match is a single rally-scoring set to 21 points (cap 23). All games (for both quads and doubles competition) will be played on a standard 30x30 court. What is "Semi-Random-Draw" ? Even though the league will start with 4-on-4 competition, you do not sign up with a team of 4 players. Instead, you sign up with 1 Partner as a "PAIR." For Quads competition during regular season, you will team up with various other pairs. For your primary games*, you and your partner will play together; the other pair (two players) of your Quad team changes (via random selection) for Regular Season games. (* NOTE: There may be instances when you (individually) will sub on another team due to a missing player) PLAYOFFS All pairs are ranked separately based on their Regular Season results. The first part of Playoffs will start with 4-on-4 competition. A pair selection process is used to form Quad teams for Playoffs starting with the #1 ranked pair who may choose any other pair including the #2 pair. The selection process goes down the list from there: the next highest ranked pair that has not been picked then chooses their teammates and so on. Using an Elimination Bracket, Reverse-Coed 4s competition is played until some Quad teams have been eliminated. At that point, the Quad teams revert back to their original pairs; former teammates must now play against each other in Reverse-Coed 2s competition. Thus, it would be unwise to choose an exceptionally strong pair as your Quad teammates; while they may help you through the 4-on-4 competition, they may prove to be hard-to-beat in the first round of 2-on-2 competition. Single-elimination Reverse-Coed 2s competition will be used to determine the sole surviving pair - the Winners of the Mini-League. You are NOT officially registered until you receive a confirmation email from us. LEAGUE CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that we reserve the right to cancel the league (or part of the league) at our sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, all players currently registered at that time will receive a pro-rated refund of the fees paid. The league may be canceled for various reasons including, but not limited to: inclement weather; unavailability of the facilities/site for the tournament; inadequate number of entries; schedule conflicts of the tournament organizer; etc. In the unlikely event of a tournament cancellation, notification will be sent via email. IMPORTANT NOTE: IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN AN ASSUMPTION OF RISKS / WAIVER OF CLAIMS / RELEASE OF LIABILITY / INDEMNITY / BINDING ARBITRATION / WAIVER OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS AGREEMENT ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT (BEFORE YOU START PLAYING). A Junior Player must be 14-17 years-old and must have a signed parental consent / waiver form.   PLAYER Cancellation Policy : If you cancel after a spot has been reserved for you (and your partner), you will only receive a full refund if you cancel at least 14-days ahead of the league's start date. If you cancel less than 14-days ahead of the league, you will receive a refund less a $20 administration fee IF AND ONLY IF the league is full (i.e. sold out) AND we are able to find replacement player(s) to take your spot.
