This is the information and registration page for the TUESDAY Unisex Reverse-Coed 4s League in EAST BAY (primarily Emeryville).
The new FALL 2024 season will start on Tues Sept 24th / Tues Oct 1st. (Some teams will start on Sept 24th while other teams will start on Oct 1st).
Tuesday Format: Unisex Reverse-Coed 4s (sign up as a team of 4)
Games are played on a women's net. Women play as usual - hitting and blocking at the net; men hit from 10-foot-line and may not block. Teams may comprise of any ratio of men and women (including all men or all women).
Games are self-officiated during Regular Season. Playoffs will take place at the end of the season (the last 1 or 2 Tuesdays). Playoff games are peer-officiated. This means that for playoff night(s), you will be assigned to officiate games in round(s) when you're not playing and/or in the round after you're eliminated.

League Details : The FALL 2024 Season will start on Tues 9/24/2024 for some teams and on Tues 10/1/2024 for other teams. The league will run for approximately 9 to 14 weeks (depending on the number of registered teams, gym availability and other factors). In general, teams will be scheduled to play 3 games each week during regular season. Teams may have a BYE during certain weeks. Each regular season game is rally-scoring to 25**; win by 2; cap at 27.
ALL teams will automatically advance to League Playoffs with the following EXCEPTION : A team that "calls in a forfeit" less than 24-hours before the scheduled game time (or simply fails to show up for one or more scheduled games) will lose the opportunity to "automatically advance to playoffs."
** IMPORTANT NEW 2024 POLICY : In general, each regular season game shall be played to 25 points (cap 27). Teams are given a 10 minute warm-up period before their first game of the evening. If teams fail to start any particular regular season game on-time (assuming a court was available for the 2 teams to warm-up on and at least 5 minutes of "hitting line" time was provided), then the league supervisor may shorten that particular game (or a subsequent game between the same 2 teams) to 21 points (cap 23) or to 15 points (cap 17) as warranted depending on how delayed the game start time was. This policy is for practical reasons as we need to maintain the league schedule within the gym rental time period. NOTE: If only 1 team is the cause of a late start, then
the league supervisor may take an alternative approach and shorten that particular game by awarding points to the other team (e.g. the game may start with a 5, 10 or 15 point lead for the team that was ready to start on time).
The League Fee is calculated based on number of regular season games scheduled (NOT the number of weeks).
Cost: EARLY TEAM Registration ($200 deposit paid BY 9/10/2024 PST) : $810-per-Team (for 33 regular season games) or $740-per-Team (for 30 regular season games) or $675-per-Team (for 27 regular season games) or $600-per-Team (for 24 regular season games) REGULAR TEAM Registration ($200 deposit paid AFTER 9/10/2024 PST) : $925-per-Team (for 33 regular season games) or $840-per-Team (for 30 regular season games) or $775-per-Team (for 27 regular season games) or $700-per-Team (for 24 regular season games)

NOTE: Players who register as Individuals are not guaranteed a spot until we inform you that we have found a spot for you on a team.
NOTE: Teams may have up to 8 players (4 core players and 4 subs) on their team roster without additional fees. If your team exceeds the 4 subs limit, there will be a $10 fee for each additional player. Subs must be added to a team's roster. Subs are players outside of the league that you bring in to play on your team for one or more league nights. When you "borrow" a player from another existing team in the same Tuesday League, that player does NOT count as a sub and is NOT added to your team roster since that player already belongs on another team in the league. You must get permission from your opponent to play with a "borrowed" player.
*** VBmatch reserves the right to charge a higher price for individual players or teams that in the past repeatedly created issues that required additional time (on the part of VBmatch personnel) to resolve. For example, some individuals repeatedly cancel and request a "sub" on league days (instead of cancelling or requesting a "sub" in advance) which increases the amount of work for VBmatch personnel.
If we decide to charge a higher price for an individual player or team based on that individual's past record or that team's past record, we will notify that individual or team prior to the start of the season and that individual or team may decide if he/she/they wish to join at the higher price or not. VBmatch also reserves the right to decline the registration of
any player who in the past presented a check that did not clear or failed to make full payment of fees or failed to respect deadlines for payments.

This is a team-based league. To register, you need to sign up with 3 other players as a team. Individuals without a team can sign up for the Free Agent List.
NOTE: If signing up as an individual for the Free Agent List, we will ask about your volleyball experience and background. Good ball control is a MUST for this league. You are NOT officially registered until you receive a confirmation email from VBmatch that we have found a spot for you on a team.
LEAGUE CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that we reserve the right to cancel the league at our sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, teams currently registered at that time will receive a pro-rated refund of the fees paid. The league may be cancelled for various reasons including, but not limited to: pandemic restrictions; government restrictions; inclement weather; unavailability of the facilities/site for the league; inadequate number of entries; schedule conflicts of the league organizer; etc. In the event of a league cancellation, notification will be sent via email.
IMPORTANT NOTE: IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN AN ASSUMPTION OF RISKS / WAIVER OF CLAIMS / RELEASE OF LIABILITY / INDEMNITY / BINDING ARBITRATION / WAIVER OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS AGREEMENT (BEFORE YOU START PLAYING). Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to see this Agreement prior to the first day of the league. A Junior Player must be 14-17 years-old and must have a signed parental consent / waiver form.

NOTE: If you cancel after a spot has been reserved for you, you will only receive a full refund if you cancel at least 21-days ahead of the league's start date. If you cancel less than 21-days ahead of the league, you will receive a refund less a $20 administration fee IF AND ONLY IF the league is full (i.e. sold out) AND we are able to find another player or team to replace you or your team.
