This is the information and registration page for our Thursday evening SAN FRANCISCO Optional REVERSE-Coed 6s League. The new season of this League will start on 4/6/2017.
To register for this league, submit your Team Roster via this Online Form and then reserve a spot by paying the League Fee via the online payment button below -OR- by mailing a check.
League Format: Optional REVERSE-Coed 6s
Games are played on a women's net. Men must hit from back-row. Whenever there are fewer than 3 women in the front-row, 1 or more back-row female may be used for back-row block assist (up to a triple-block maximum). Teams may field up to 6 women or up to 4 men with 2 women. In other words, any of the following ratios is acceptable : 6 women & 0 men, 5 women & 1 man, 4 women & 2 men, 3 women & 3 men or 2 women & 4 men.
Regular Season Games are self-officiated. If two teams can't agree on a call, the point is re-played.
For Playoff Night, teams that are not playing a particular round will be assigned to officiate the playoff matches and teams that are eliminated from the playoff bracket will need to stay one extra round to help officiate.
League Time: Thursdays 6:45pm to ~10:30pm. For each team, game start-times vary week-by-week and will be communicated by email in advance.
League Duration: The League will run for approximately 8 to 10 weeks (but not necessarily consecutive weeks). Depending on the number of teams that register, each team will be scheduled for 21 to 27 regular season games. PLUS all teams advance to playoffs.
League Fee for Individual Free Agent Players: $120-per-person for 21 regular season games PLUS playoffs; $135 for 24 regular season games PLUS playoffs; $150 for 27 regular season games PLUS playoffs.
The fee depends on the number of teams that register this season which affects the number of opponents you play against and hence the number of regular season games you will be scheduled for. In addition to regular season games, all teams advance to playoffs.
* VBmatch reserves the right to charge a higher price for individual players who in the past repeatedly created issues that required additional time (on the part of VBmatch staff) to resolve. For example, some individuals repeatedly cancel and request a "sub" on league days (instead of cancelling in advance) which increases the amount of work for VBmatch staff.
If we decide to charge a higher price for an individual player based on that individual's past record, we will notify that individual prior to the start of the season and that individual may decide if he wishes to join at the higher price or not. VBmatch also reserves the right to reject the registration of
any player who in the past presented a check that did not clear or failed to make full payment of fees.
League Fee for Teams: The league fee is based on the number of regular season games which depends on the number of registered teams.
For 21 regular season games PLUS playoffs : $632-per-team for Early Registration if deposit is paid by 3/10. $670-per-team if deposit is paid by 3/17. $720-per-team if deposit is paid after 3/17.
For 24 regular season games PLUS playoffs : $715-per-team for Early Registration if deposit is paid by 3/10. $755-per-team if deposit is paid by 3/17. $810-per-team if deposit is paid after 3/17.
For 27 regular season games PLUS playoffs : $800-per-team for Early Registration if deposit is paid by 3/10. $840-per-team if deposit is paid by 3/17. $900-per-team if deposit is paid after 3/17.
Because teams sometimes register at the last minute, we will announce the number of regular season games
and the league fee by the first day of league for your team.
On average, each team will be scheduled to play 3 games (appx. 1-1/2 hours) during each week of regular season. Teams will get a 10-minute warm-up period (5 minutes of peppering and 5 minutes for hitting line prior to their first game of the evening; games are rally-scoring to 25 (win by 2; cap at 27).
Again, the league fee is based on the number of regular season games your team is scheduled to play and that depends on the number of teams that register. If we have 8 teams (compared to say 10 teams), the season will be shorter and you will be scheduled for fewer regular season games. The league fee will reflect that (i.e. the league fee will be lower for a season with 8 teams compared to a season with 10 teams).
NOTE: Based on the initial team registration fee, teams may have up to 10-players on their roster: 6 core players and 4 subs. Additional subs are allowed and must be added to the team roster but teams must pay an extra $5 for each additional player on their roster beyond the first ten (10) players. (Our insurance premium is based on the total number of unique participants. Furthermore, this policy encourages teams to play with stable rosters. If a team plays with a different lineup of players each week, the record (game scores) and ranking for that team becomes less and less meaningful.)
