NOTE: The above video is from a prior season at Alameda Point Gym.
This is the registration page for the Fall 2014 / Winter 2015 Season of VBmatch's East Bay Monday Indoor Dual-Coed 6s League (which will start on Mon 11/10).
*League games will be played at various gyms primarily in Alameda. However, we may also use gyms in Berkeley and other nearby cities.
To register for the league, submit your Team Roster via this Online Form and then reserve a spot by paying a deposit via the online payment button below -OR- by mailing a check. The FULL entry fee is due by the first day of league. The deposit will be refunded after the full entry fee is paid.
Format of Monday League: Indoor Dual-Coed 6s Dual-Coed is where half of the games are played on a Men's height net with coed rules and the other half are played on a Women's height net with reverse-coed rules (women play as usual; men hit from 10 and may NEVER block). There is neither a male-contact rule nor a female-contact-rule. Teams may use Back-Row Block Assist.
Free Agents (Individuals Without a Team): Individuals without a team may sign up for the Free Agent Wait-List. Please indicate which league you’d like to join. Please also provide your height, your preferred position(s) and some information about your volleyball background, experience and skill level. We will try to find an appropriate team to place you on.
League Details: The Fall 2014 / Winter 2015 Season will start on Monday 11/10/2014 . The league will run for approximately 8 to 11 weeks (depending on the number of registered teams, gym availability and other factors). For a full league (with 10 teams), each team will be scheduled to play nine (9) coed matches and nine (9) reverse-coed matches for regular season. Each match consists of two games to 25; win by 2; cap at 27. In other words, for a full league (with 10 teams), there will be 18 regular season matches (36 games).* This is followed by Playoffs in the Final Week.**
*NOTE: The league fee is calculated based on a total of 36 regular season games. Plus all teams advance to playoffs. The league fee will be reduced if there are fewer than 36 regular season games.
** Playoffs may span multiple weeks if we are unable to complete all playoff matches on a single Monday evening.
On most nights of regular season, teams will play two 1-hour matches and officiate for 1-hour. There may be some nights when a team plays only one match or plays three matches instead of two. There may also be some nights when certain teams have a "BYE."
If there are more than 10 teams in a division, you will get to play against each opponents at least once; you will play against some opponents twice (once in each format). About the 3rd or 4th week into the season (after each team has established a record), the schedule will be adjusted to maximize the number of closely contested games and minimize the number of "blowout" games (games with more than a 10-point spread). There is no point in having a bunch of lop-sided matches. For example, the schedule will be arranged such that the top teams will only play against the bottom teams once (in one format) instead of twice.
Team Registration Fee for FULL 10 Team League : $640-per-team NOTE: A $20 discount will be given to teams that register and pay the deposit by 10/31/2014. Another $20 discount will be given for teams that meet the League Fee Deadline and pay in full by the first day of league with a SINGLE Payment. Also, the team registration fee will be pro-rated if there are fewer than 10 teams because the number of opponents and hence the number of games will be reduced.
INDIVIDUAL (Free Agent Player) Registration Fee for FULL 10 Team Season : $115-per-Individual
NOTE: Teams may have up to 10 players (6 core players and 4 subs) on their team roster without additional fees. If your team exceeds the 4 subs limit, there will be a $5 fee for each additional player. Subs must be added to a team's roster. Subs are players outside of the league who you bring in to play on your team for one or more league nights. When you "borrow" a player from another existing team in the league, that player does NOT count as a sub and is NOT added to your team roster since that player already belongs on another team in the league.
To register for the league, submit your Team Roster via this Online Form and then reserve a spot by paying a deposit via the online payment button below -OR- by mailing a check. The FULL entry fee is due on-site on the first day of league. The deposit will be refunded after the full entry fee is paid.
NOTE: Space is limited, so we will send you an email after we receive your deposit to let you know if we can accept your entry. You are NOT officially registered until you receive a confirmation email from us.
LEAGUE CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that we reserve the right to cancel the league at our sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, teams currently registered at that time will receive a pro-rated refund of the fees paid. The league may be cancelled for various reasons including, but not limited to: inclement weather; unavailability of the facilities/site for the league; inadequate number of entries; schedule conflicts of the league organizer; etc. In the unlikely event of a league cancellation, notification will be sent via email.
IMPORTANT NOTE: IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN AN ASSUMPTION OF RISKS / WAIVER OF CLAIMS / RELEASE OF LIABILITY / INDEMNITY / BINDING ARBITRATION / WAIVER OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS AGREEMENT (BEFORE YOU START PLAYING). Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to see this Agreement before the day of the tournament. A Junior Player must be 14-17 years-old and must have a signed parental consent / waiver form.
